Glossitis causes and treatment at home



The tongue is a very sensitive part of the body, therefore a sore tongue can cause a lot of pain and discomfort, and can appear as small bumps and lumps on the tongue, 
There is no known specific cause sore tongue, however, the most common cause is mistakenly bitten tongue or injury to the tongue while using a toothpick or toothbrush
Other causes that may lead to Glossitis such as viral infection, heredity, hormonal changes in the body, and a weakened immune system, eating spicy foods, bowel or stomach disorders, stress, and lack of minerals and vitamins such as zinc, folic acid, iron, and B group of vitamins
Some natural treatments can help to heal and relieve pain associated with inflammation of the tongue. However, if the pain and the inflammation continues for a week, consult your doctor or dentist.
Most home remedies for sore tongue:


1. Aloe Vera (Aloe Vera gel):
Aloe Vera has many healing properties that can address many of the problems in the mouth, including the tongue, where it has anti-inflammatory properties help reduce pain and inflammation.
Method:
Extract the gel from the leaf cactuses and place it directly on the affected area. Repeat several times a day.
Another option is to rinse your mouth with Aloe Vera juice 3 or 4 times a day.
Follow any of these treatments daily until the pain and inflammation.


2. baking soda:
Baking soda has anti-inflammatory properties help soothe pain and inflammation.
Method:
Mix ½ teaspoon baking soda with a little water for making dough, and place it on the affected area for one minute and then rinse your mouth with warm water.
You can also mix teaspoon baking soda in a cup of warm water and use the solution to rinse your mouth several times a day.
Use any of these treatments 3 or 4 times a day until you get rid of this problem.


3. hydrogen peroxide:
Hydrogen peroxide is a very effective disinfectant to treat inflammation of the tongue, where it has antibacterial properties that reduce the risk of infection. You must use hydrogen peroxide 3% only.
Method:
Mix equal amounts of 3% hydrogen peroxide with warm water.
Place it on the affected area using a piece of cotton.
Leave it for a few seconds, then rinse your mouth with warm water.
Do this several times a day for a few days.


4. salt:
Salt is a natural antiseptic that can be used to treat inflammation of the tongue, where it helps to reduce pain and also inflammation. Furthermore, it can prevent infection.
Method:
Mixing a teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water, stir well and used as a rinse for mouth 3 to 4 times daily until cure infections.
You can put a little salt directly on the affected area to assist in drying the ulcer.


5. licorice:
Medical and therapeutic properties of licorice makes it effective in treating inflammation of the tongue, where it has anti-inflammatory properties that can sooth the affected area.
Method:
Mix a teaspoon of licorice root powder with enough water for making dough and then put it on the affected area with a cotton swab, and leaving it for a few minutes, and then rinse it with warm water. Repeats several times per day.
You can also prepare a rinse for mouth by soaking a tablespoon of licorice root in two cups of water for 3 hours. And use the solution as a rinse for mouth several times daily.
Note: persons suffering from hypertension should not use licorice root.


6. lavender oil:
Lavender essential oil can be used to treat inflammation of the tongue because it helps reduce pain and inflammation. In addition, it helps accelerate healing and repairing skin.
Method:
Add a few drops of lavender essential oil to a cup of warm water, and use it to rinse your mouth several times daily.
Another option is to mix 3 drops of lavender essential oil with a teaspoon of honey and ¼ cup of hot water and turning well and then add ½ Cup of cold water, and use this solution as a rinse for mouth several times a day.


Note: avoid ingesting lavender essential oil to it hazardous to your health.


7. honey:
Honey has soothing and curative properties can help relieve pain and inflammation caused by inflammation of the tongue.
Method:
Put a little honey on the affected part of your tongue several times a day.
You can also mix a tablespoon of honey with half a teaspoon of turmeric for making dough, and place it on the affected area and leave it for at least 5 minutes and then rinse your mouth with warm water. Do this 3 or 4 times a day for a few days.


8. majolica:
Destroyed an effective treatment for Glossitis at home because they have soothing properties can help relieve pain. Moreover, it has the effect of astringent and drying for sores.
Method:


Boil a handful of fresh Sage leaves 3 to 4 cups of water for 2 minutes, then leave it on low heat for 5 minutes, filter and add a few drops of myrrh tincture and leave it to cool, and use it as a mouthwash several times a day.
Additional tips:
Put a piece of ice to the affected area to get pain relief immediately.
Take sips of iced water to relieve the pain.
Take vitamin B12 supplements to prevent outbreaks of sores on the tongue.
If you are allergic to foods like chocolate, oranges, pineapple, strawberries, eggs, cheese, nuts, coffee, avoid these foods.
Along with brushing teeth, tongue cleaning is also important.
Rinse your mouth with mouthwash to prevent infection.
Quit smoking to relieve pain.
Stress increases the risk of inflammation of the tongue. Therefore, you must reduce stress with yoga, deep breathing and eating the right foods.
Avoid using toothpaste which contains a compound called sodium lauryl sulphate because it can cause injury to skin cells lining the inside of the mouth.
Use a soft-bristled brush and brushing the teeth gently
